Monique Maldonado is the CEO of Maldina Publishing, LLC and the author of The Looking List. With over 15 years of experience in marketing, she brings a passion for storytelling, strategy, and creative expression to every project. In 2025, she proudly published her first author under Maldina Publishing, marking a major milestone in her journey as a publisher. Monique holds a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Columbia College Chicago and a master’s degree in New Media Studies from DePaul University. Her background in communication and media has shaped her ability to craft and support compelling narratives. The writing of her first children’s book developed from the idea of sharing some of her life’s obsessions (planning and organization) and teaching valuable life skills to children. If there’s one thing she’s learned since becoming a mother, it’s that teaching children the way of the world is hard and stories can help. Her mission is to grow a publishing company that brings powerful stories to life especially those from voices that are often underrepresented in the literary world. As a Latina woman, she is deeply committed to creating space for herself and others to share authentic, meaningful stories that reflect diverse experiences. She is married to her husband and creative partner, and together they are raising two children.
